We collect information you provide directly to us and information collected automatically when you use the Service.

Information You Provide

Resume Content: When you upload a resume, we process the document to extract your professional information including work history, education, skills, and other career-related content.
Job Descriptions: Job postings you paste, search for, or import via our browser extension are processed to match your resume content with job requirements.
Email Address (Optional): If you choose to receive your tailored resumes via email, we collect your email address solely for delivery purposes.
Feedback and Communications: If you contact us for support or provide feedback, we collect the content of those communications.

Information Collected Automatically

Usage Information: We collect information about how you interact with the Service, including features used, actions taken, and time spent.
Device Information: We collect information about the device you use, including browser type, operating system, and IP address.
Session Data: We use session cookies to maintain your session state while you use the Service.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

Generate tailored resume variants

3. AI-Powered Features

Tailored uses artificial intelligence to power core features of the Service, including:

  • Resume parsing and profile extraction

  • Resume tailoring and content optimization

Third-Party AI Providers

We use Anthropic's Claude API to power our AI features. When your content is processed, it is sent to Anthropic's servers. Anthropic does not use your data to train their AI models when accessed via their API. For more information, see Anthropic's Privacy Policy.

AI Content Disclaimer

AI-generated content is provided for assistance only. You are solely responsible for reviewing, editing, and verifying all AI-generated content before using it. We do not guarantee accuracy, completeness, or suitability for any specific job application.

4. Browser Extension

Our browser extension allows you to import job postings from job sites like LinkedIn, Indeed, and Glassdoor.

Data Collected: Job title, company, location, and job description from pages you choose to import.
How It Works: The extension only activates when you click to import a job. It does not track your browsing history or collect data from pages you don't explicitly import.
Connection: The extension connects to your Tailored session using a secure, time-limited linking code.

5. Data Retention

All session data is automatically deleted within 24 hours.

We do not create permanent user accounts. Your resume, job descriptions, and generated content are stored only for the duration of your session and automatically purged within 24 hours.

We may retain aggregated, anonymized usage data for analytics purposes. This data cannot be used to identify you.

Sell your personal information
Use your resume to train AI models
Share data with third parties for marketing
Store data beyond the 24-hour window
Create permanent user profiles
Track your browsing across other websites

7. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in the following circumstances:

Service Providers

We share information with vendors who perform services on our behalf:

  • Anthropic: AI processing for resume analysis and generation
  • SendGrid: Email delivery for sending resumes
  • Cloud Infrastructure: Secure hosting and data storage

Legal Requirements

We may disclose information if required by law or in response to valid legal requests.

Business Transfers

If Tailored is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

8. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information:

HTTPS encryption for all data transmission
File validation before processing
Automatic session expiration and data purge
Secure API communication with third-party services

However, no method of transmission over the Internet is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Cookies and Tracking

Essential Cookies

Required for the Service to function. These include session cookies to maintain your state while using the Service.

Analytics

We use privacy-friendly analytics to understand Service usage in aggregate. This data does not include resume content or personal information.

10. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information:

Access: Request a copy of your data (note: session data is deleted within 24 hours)
Deletion: Your data is automatically deleted within 24 hours; you can also close your browser to end your session immediately
Opt-Out: You can disable cookies in your browser settings

You have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion, and opt-out of sale (we do not sell personal information).

For EEA/UK Residents (GDPR)

You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, data portability, and object to processing. Our legal basis for processing is legitimate interest (to provide the Service) and consent (for optional features like email delivery).

11. International Data Transfers

Tailored processes data in the United States. If you are located outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.

12. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If we learn we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly.
